HOUSTON SAFETY

Safety can be a concern in certain parts of Houston. Avoid dimly lit streets or alleyways, stay on main streets, and don’t go exploring alone. If you wish to go out at night, you can do so without worrying too much as long as you remain in the immediate area around The Moran and CITYCENTRE. If you plan to go out at night, use an Uber or Lyft to travel to your destination.

  • Public transit is not a recommended mode of transportation in Houston.

  • Shuttles will be available on Monday and Wednesday for travelers. Use only recognized ground-transportation services available at authorized bus, van, limousine, and taxi pickup points.

  • Do not advertise that you are a tourist. Identify the location you want to visit, and check maps thoroughly before you go out.

  • If you carry a purse or shoulder bag, make sure it is securely closed and hold it in front of you or close to your body.
